August – Back To School

      

This time of year we think about new beginnings with the new school year.  It is a time to think about sports physicals, vision screenings, and other things that students need at this time of year.  Even if you are not a student, you may schedule your appointments at this time of the year just to make it easier on yourself to remember them. You can schedule an eye exam, your yearly physical at your primary care physician’s office, and anything else you need to keep your health on track. 

If you do have students who are returning to school, this is a good time to remind them of these tips to help keep them healthy throughout the school year:

  • Washing their hands often to avoid the spread of germs
  • Getting enough rest
  • Staying active in extracurricular activities to keep fit
  • Making healthy choices in the lunchroom
  • Avoid practices that may spread lice
